Scarred in a duel over a feckless female, Gavin Lawrence leaves America to take up his new duty as Marquess of Effingham, vowing to never again care for another woman. But lurking in the Marquess' crumbling manor is a young woman in terrible danger. The self-sufficient daughter of a soldier, Dillian Whitnell hides her injured cousin in the secret passages of Arinmede Manor following an attempt on their lives. Trapped by the Marquess' unexpected arrival, Dillian tries to convince Gavin she's a ghost while planning their escape. As their hide-and-seek game leads to increasingly close encounters, Gavin's irritation turns to intrigue, and intrigue into forbidden passion while the real villain stalks them both.

I loved this book and listened to it in one sitting. I found myself grinning a lot while listening to the banter between the characters. Can't wait to start the next book.

Couldn't put it down

A wonderful book with a great Narrator in Jeremy Arthur. Gavin and his brother Michael finally make it to England after he inherited a title. His brother Michael brings a injured woman to the castle to hide her from whom ever wants her dead. Her cousin Dillian stays in the shadows so the Marquess does not see her. But the Marquess is not stupid he knows something is up. When he finally catches Dillian and she is not shocked or scared of his heart starts to melt.
Dillian will do anything to protect Blanche but when Gavin and Michael really dig into the the fire and other incidents they realize it was actually Dillian they were after.
A wonderful story with a great ending.

A Love for the Marquess

I really liked this book. It was great that there was a hero and heroine. Both leads were equally as strong and had great chemistry. I also like the narrator. He did a great job with all the voices. I get so irritated when the narrator isn't good. This one was great.

Good Read!
