An update to the classic book that links neuroscience and human behavior in the context of therapy.

This groundbreaking book explores the recent revolution in psychotherapy that has brought an understanding of the social nature of people's brains to a therapeutic context. Louis Cozolino is a master at synthesizing neuroscientific information and demonstrating how it applies to psychotherapy practice. New material on altruism, executive function, trauma, and change round out this essential book.

Some over simplifications but a good read. I would pair it with The Developing Mind or another longer book by Daniel Siegal and a book called Symphony in the Brain (about neurofeedback).

Pretty good, some simplifocations

Louis cosolino presents a beautiful primer to the human brain. he demonstrates key connections between brain function and the work that we do as therapists. this is Essential Knowledge for any therapist, and is a great resource for clients as well!

A must listen for every therapist

The book is good but the narrator sounds like he should do a butter commercial. A little too sing-songy for neuroscience

Good book but annoying performance

this was a great one to listen to! The way Lewis teaches through his own experience and therapy sessions with clients is amazing. The narrator is also the greatest, if not the best in articulating and inflecting upon the material. I praise them both. chapter 22 is perhaps one of the greatest listens you will have on all of Louis's books.

One of the greats. not just from cozolino, but of
