After a brief and deadly civil war, in which forbidden weapons were used, Russia is just a fraction of what it used to be. The border of what now proudly calls itself the "Moscow Empire" is set just a few hundred miles away from the capital, by the broad river Volga, now poisoned by the fallout. For years, nobody has come from the other side of the bridge. Until now...©2021 Storytel Original (P)2021 Storytel Original Science Fiction Post-Apocalyptic

the book is very slow drama for the most part and builds mystery as it goes. but the best of the novel comes at the end. not as good as his metro series but i did enjoy the story

very slow but horrifying towards the end

As a huge fan of Metro 2033 I always look out for anything the author puts out and this left me disappointed. The idea of the move is interesting but sadly it’s just kind of dull, it’s incredibly slow and spends a long time talking about the characters who are usually whiny brats and not interesting to read about and whenever it does branch away from the whiny main character it shows some interesting and promising conflicts and moments but they are few and far between. Ultimately pretty disappointing.

A dull slog

I really like the metro books . even though I really struggle with the Russian names . but this story is easy to follow and builds up tension as it progresses . narrator did a great job and brings it to life . it has a mystery you have to find out once you get hooked . I wish the ending was a little more fleshed out . the author ended the metro books without an epilog. I guess that's his style . so after all the struggle it ends and you wonder ok what happened ? did they make it ? did it work out ? I would recommend this book if you like horror . and I would also recommend the metro 2033 series .

narrator was excellent .

The voice actor was great with little details that sell the characters. The story is slow and somewhat boring before things pick up. But, once the ball gets rolling it's very exciting and depressing. If you liked Metro, you will like this.

this is pretty dialogue heavy and doesn't take off until near the end. I hope there's more coming
