Can someone heist the majority of the House of Representatives with no one noticing? That's the electoral coup that turns America upside down in The People's House. Until one man notices.

Political reporter Jack Sharpe is logging time at the tail end of a disappointing career - jaded about politics and stung by personal hard knocks. But after an odd election result in the Ohio Congressional district he covers, Sharpe stumbles across irregularities that spur him to dig deeper. The story takes him far beyond his corner of Ohio as he discovers an international plot one that strikes at the heart of American democracy by taking advantage of weaknesses in today's political architecture. His reporting leads to a showdown with a philandering Congressman and Presidential contender, and an eccentric but deadly Russian energy baron. In order to save himself and the country, Sharpe must rekindle his old fire to navigate a treacherous journey through danger, betrayal, and atonement.

This is so plausible that it’s scary. It’s not a matter of If, rather it’s a matter of when!

A great read and listen

The story is popcorn political fiction. I enjoyed it for what it was. Sadly, the narration detracts from the experience. I do not recommend this as an audio book; enjoy it in another medium.

I wasn’t sure about it, but it became a real page turner. Might make a good movie.

Better than expected

A little slow at start but picked up quickly. Good story, really nice plotting and a bit of a twist at the ehd. All that, well crafted writing and a timely political message. Well worth the reading, but the narration enhanced it beautifully.

Expected a message...got a well told story as well.

While this is fiction, it is frighteningly close to reality. David Pepper does a masterful job telling the story of how an American election was stolen. This page-turner keeps you gripped to your seat. The characters are compelling and well developed. if only the ending were true.

Bone chilling and thrilling
