His first mistake? Thinking she'd let him go.

Juliette finally has it all. Great friends. An exciting new job that sends her to exotic locations all over the world. Best of all, she has a good, decent man who loves her, who wants to spend the rest of his life with her…

He just won’t admit it.

But Juliette’s not worried. After all, fate brought them together in the first place. If she and Nate are meant to be, they can weather any storm—even this break-up they’re going through now. Nate thought things had been moving too fast, getting too intense. All he needed was some space, though. Now that six months have passed since that awful night, it’s time for Juliette to put her plan into action.

It takes some convincing: cleaning his apartment while he’s out, leaving behind his favorite foods…little things to make him realize how badly he misses her. Once he sees Juliette has this perfect new life—and broken free from her dark past—he won’t ignore her anymore. Especially now that she’s working for his airline.

She’s not going to let him go so easily. Because their love is like a dream that never dies.

Even when it turns out to be a nightmare.

No one can fight fate! Usually I get annoyed when a concrete ending isn’t provided, however, in this case not providing one really adds to the drama! You can imagine all the ways she will continue to traumatize and torture Nate! Great story.

Loved it!!!

I was so invested. couldn't stop listening to it... but the ending was just.... not it.
is there a part 2 out there or something? I hate when books end like this. loved it till the last paragraph.

Great Book... but ending was a bummer

I'm convinced this was made to be an audiobook. The narrator does a fantastic job reading from Lily's POV and doing everything from a great customer service voice when Lily's at her airline job, to a great insane voice, to a great American accent at times!

And I enjoyed it; being in Lily's head for 12 hours. I came to sympathize with her, and I came to wish she would win. What I love about this book is the feeling that the characters are bound entirely by at times nonsensical motivations and personal concictions- I think this book is incredibly immersive, and manages to pull off some insane plotlines without it ever feeling forced; without having to reach for absurd plot twists to retain tension. On the topic, many of the most hair-raising moments of this novel are only mundane things that gain tension from the way they matter to the characters.

Complaints... I think the ending is kind of mid, I don't think the character who gets it should've got it, I wasn't invested enough in them for it to hit me. Can be repetitive at times- I think the audio format elevates it a lot. if I had to describe this book it's like listening to your crazy relative ramble about some rude interaction from three weeks ago at a gathering- in that was oddly captivating for some, and incredibly ear jarring for others.

If you don't like yandere stories, I wouldn't recommend. If you find it difficult to suspend disbelief especially when the character is a bad person- No faulting you, it's some people and if it's you there other things to read.

I think it works as an audiobook better than book

I liked the premise of this book, but the story went on forever with the (damaged) protagonist trying to catch this man who didn’t want to be with her. She goes from Plan A to Plan Z, in utter denial and the ending never resolves. Also, it was a very strange choice of narrator. Truly a case of a narrator not matching the book. I think the book was going for a modern, Gone Girl, vibe with a narrator that might have been better suited for a 1940s period piece. Distracting.

A Long Haul
