The Photographer

When they began their continent-crossing expedition in 1879 to capture the country on their cameras’ plates, Sam Chase and his father were prepared for almost any eventuality. But when his father was setting up for a landscape in Texas’ Big Bend three years later, he made a fatal mistake. He tried to move a large rattler out of the frame by just kicking at him. After he buried his father, Sam vowed to continue their mission. A few months later, when he entered a small town a few miles west of Santa Fe in New Mexico Territory, he had no idea of the dramatic impact the brief stop would have.

He just stopped to have lunch and buy a few things. But when he set up camp that evening a few miles west of town, he discovered that he’d picked up a stowaway.

A stowaway who would be a magnet for violent men who wanted to take her back.

A Great Western Listen with a Unique Angle

This is a fun western. A lot of the story concerns women, which I like a lot. It’s not a super violent or gory story. Nor is it one of the usual western plots (I love so much).
There’s lots of interesting details about photography, scenery and animals.
This book is not a great epic novel or anything like that, but I really enjoyed it.

Boring

This is one of the worst Petitt books. I could not finish it it was so bad.
