"Rutger's creepy, creative sequel to 2018's The Anomaly does a fine job ratcheting up the tension. Fans of supernatural thrillers will be more than satisfied."—p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman'}Publishers Weekly

If you're looking for a good follow up to Rutger's The Anomaly, this isn't one in my opinion. I loved the first book of the series as it built suspense leading to a great ending, while this book left me wanting. Pyle does a good job with the narration although I listened to this directly after the first book and I'd have to say that the first narrator did a better job with the voicing and immersion. Overall not a bad read/listen. Just didn't draw me in as much as the first book.

It's really hard to beat the first book in the Nolan series. The Anomaly was one of the best books I've read in years. Likable characters and an incredible story! As for this book, it was pretty good. Worth reading. Once again the author shows how well they can depict human nature, and I enjoy the continuing friendships between the main cast. The audible performance, however, was hard to swallow when it came to Ken's accent. It was so good in the first book!

Pretty Good

Has some creepy moments, some laugh out loud moments induced by fun and witty dialogue, and the x files esque scifi that I loved in the first book. Just get it and enjoy.

Another great one.

I really want to know from the author, was it his decision to change the narrator? what an effect when you grow over hours of listening, a relationship almost human with the characters. Then those whom you met, analyzed, liked or disliked in your mind, become total strangers in a "weaker" story...or what appeared to be because of the new setting.
Michael, I wished for the same from the time at the grand canyon, and I didn't get that.

Could have been better

I really liked the first book, The Anomaly, but this one wasn't nearly as good. Seemed like most of the book was a build up to the story and wasn't very interesting. The narrator wasn't my favorite either. He was pretty monotone and didn't differentiate the voices very well so it was hard to tell who was who. His Ken accent was terrible, all I could think of was Stewie from Family Guy. If there's a third book I'll give it a try, just hope the narrator is someone else.

Just ok
