Novels of Ancient Sumeria, Book Two
Exile has cost Prince Ammon his kingdom—but survival has not brought him peace.
Now married and living in obscurity, Ammon seeks stability far from the courts and temples that once shaped his fate. Yet the ancient world does not release its claims so easily. When forces tied to temple power and political ambition begin to close in once more, Ammon is drawn back into a struggle that threatens not only his life, but the fragile freedom of those he loves.
At the heart of the danger stands a priestess whose loyalty to truth places her at odds with both gods and men. As religious authority hardens into control and sacred duty becomes a tool of power, Ammon and the priestess must navigate a world where faith can no longer remain private—and where moral choices carry consequences beyond any single household or city.
Betrayal, coercion, and sacrifice press in from all sides as the cost of belief becomes unmistakably clear. What began as a quest to reclaim a throne now becomes something far more perilous: a confrontation with the structures of power that rule the ancient world itself.
The Prince and the Priestess continues Novels of Ancient Sumeria, a Christian historical fiction series set in the ancient Near East, exploring faith, authority, and moral responsibility amid the civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.
The story continues in Book Three.

What did you love best about The Prince and the Priestess?
Original setting, lovable charactersWho was your favorite character and why?
Ammon was my favorite character because he was the perfect mix of luck, hubris, bravery, and sheer stupidity. His creative plans were always right on the line of brilliant and foolhardy. What about Austin Vanfleet’s performance did you like?
His performance was solid, and a great continuation from from the first book.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed many times while reading this book. I also remember shock at one point, like: "I should have seen that one coming! How did I miss that!"Any additional comments?
Jesse Hudson is a lot of fun to read because the stories ring familiar of other adventure tales involving rescue, misfortune, and fun escapes, but Jesse adds this new layer of historical authenticity. For example, the names, places, foods and customs all feel legitimate. At the same time, Ammon feels like a lot of cocky, goofy young men that I know.Even more fun than the first

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have recommended this book to several friends! Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! What did you like best about this story?
For me the best part of this book is that it always keeps you guessing. I could never tell what was going to happen next. I hate books that make it too obvious about what is going to happen next. I also love the witty banter that the characters have back and forth between each other.Which scene was your favorite?
One of my favorite parts of this book are the lessons that Ammon-shur is taught by the blind man in the mines. But that is just one of so many other parts of this book that I loved. I can't wait to listen to book 3!THIS BOOK IS A HIDDEN GEM!!!! COULDN'T STOP READIN
