Maitland is back!

The Promised Land is a return to Barry Maitland’s early novels with one plot twist after another with a final capper that you won’t have seen coming. Great fun!

Excellent story, narrator.

Excellent. What a relief to have an very good narrator. Historical reference and plot well executed.

Promising start but...

The book started well but quickly devolved into a really stupid, convoluted mess. The plot was completely implausible and the main characters behaved idiotically. The narrator was excellent however and was the only reason I continued listening.
