Lane, with her new deputy, digging into the life of the latest victim and Philip, befriending those who were involved in the prior death the summer before. It's not long before Philip becomes convinced Sheriff Lane is looking for murder and mayhem where there is none. But Lane, trusting her instincts and intuition, refuses to let the investigation fizzle out. Will the two deaths end up being coincidence after all or will a murderer be unmasked?

The narrator did such a great job. I really liked the story, and the bloopers at the end make me laugh!

A wonderful addition to the Rockfish Island Series

JC has done an amazing job of continuing the story of Sheriff Lane and Ranger Russell. Compelling murder mystery and enjoyable side stories. Nancy Peterson has once again masterfully brought the world of Rockfish Island to life. Can't wait for book three to come to Audible!!

JC fuller is a masterful story teller and Nancy Peterson does an amazing job bringing the Push to life. Such a dynamic duo - this story sucks you in from the get go and keeps you glued will all the twists and turns. So good!

A good followup

An excellent second installment in the series — returning to Rockfish Island feels consistent and the new case kept me guessing. I did guess the central “conceit” of the plot before it was revealed — but there were still satisfying twists in the final act. Looking forward to Book 3.
