From the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the Netflix original series Sex/Life) comes a New Adult romance with a dark, dystopian twist.

With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.

Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.

Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.

As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate—one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.

Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.

Before their time runs out.

I absolutely loved this trilogy. It flowed from one book to the next seamlessly. The entire world is predicting the apocalypse. Everyone is dreaming of the four horsemen coming in on April 23rd and wreaking havoc on the world. As the date gets closer the worst things have become. Towns and businesses are overrun by gangs. Neighbors & friends have turned on one another. It’s do or die. You vs. them . You lie, cheat, steal, or kill to survive. Today’s currency is money, drugs, or women, willing or unwilling. It doesn’t matter to them and there is no one to stop them.
Rain and Wes’ story is tragically heart-breaking.
Wes has one goal. To survive. Supplies, shelter, self-defense.
Rain is not afraid to die, the world is ending…right. WRONG. Rain is traumatized by the events that have happened to her. She blocks them out as much as she can but she is cracking under the pressure. Depression hits her hard. Wes comes into her life like a white knight. Well technically he did kidnap her at gun point. But he did save her life at the same time! LOL
Rain & Wes are so opposite and yet so perfect for one another. Their chemistry is explosive. Their journey is long and worth every moment.

April 23rd...tick tock

Loved Wes and Rain’s story. Finding love and a reason to stay alive when the world is thrust into chaos by a ticking clock of reapers coming to k word everyone. I feel like if you want drama like the walking dead, but want romance instead of the zombies, then you will enjoy this trilogy. The narrator’s did a great job. I was emotional when I needed to be and I was mad when I needed to be. I truly believed they felt how these characters felt. Great read.

love at the end of the world 💕

The story was just ok. I appreciated the attempt and it had some good parts, but overall it just felt really immature and unbelievable. The ‘Rain’ narrator was good, but the ‘Wes’ narrator was so confusing and irritating. If he grew up in Texas and moved to North Carolina and then Europe WHY does he talk like a whiny surfer boy? I’m surprised I finished it. Definitely not a book I’d listen to again or recommend.

‘Wes’ Narrator ruined it for me

I loved the chemistry between Rain and Wes.
Rain found a reason to to go on living. Wes gave her that reason.
I loved the narrators, they brought the story to life.

The Rain Trilogy Box Set (Praying for Rain / Fighting for Rain / Dying for Rain) is a dystopian romance trilogy. A pre, during and post apocalypse new world detailed very descriptively and vividly. The authors writing style is analytical. The story is sensibly plotted and the timelime coincides with each book in the series. Myriad of action, angst, drama, suspense and unexpected twists. Ends with a great epilogue.

Madeleine Dauer, Alex Kydd dual narration brought the story out in a realistic way. Madeline Dauer's inflection is unique and fit what I would expect Rain's character to be. I enjoyed listening to her narration. Alex Kydd's inflection is different and feels unprofessional but it maybe the way he wants to come off as playing the character. In the beginning he was difficult to listen to but as the story progressed you get used to his inflection and think of him as Wes.

Overall a entertaining listen well worth your time.
