The Resolution is the fourth installment in The New Homefront Series where patriotic Americans struggle to survive while fighting the evil and tyranny that pervades their new world. As the country continued to struggle amidst the fallout from the orchestrated collapse, the United Nations and other foreign entities continued to increase their influence, taking advantage of a nation desperate for order. Introduced as "peacekeepers" by the current administration, armed foreign troops occupied US territory for the first time since the Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, occupying the islands of Kiska and Attu in 1942-43. Initially, the UN established itself in major metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles; once seen as a legitimate government presence, they began to venture out into rural areas to quell any potential resistance to their true intentions - enjoying the spoils of a war they did not even have to fight. America and its valuable resources were ripe for the picking, or so it seemed. The one thing the occupiers did not count on was the will of the American people, a people born into a freedom that was handed down to them since the founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors to resist the tyranny they faced under King George III. The patriots of today may face a different foe, but the struggle to hold on to their natural, God-given rights is the same as their forefathers. Human nature will always go in one of two directions: those who will give up freedom for security, and those who will give their lives in the struggle for freedom.

The situation is going from bad to worse.

The Guardians continue their mission of protecting the homesteads within their AO. Things have not been going well for our group and lives have been lost. UN forces have expanded into The Guardians territory and the situation is going from bad to worse. Our boys go out on a scavenging run, get stopped by UN troops, and become reluctant guests of same. The four men are split into two groups and held in separate areas. Two men within a group of survivors escape their captors with help from the militia. They are gratefully resupplied, rearmed, and sent on their way home. The other two men are held captive at an airfield in Atlanta. They too manage to escape, again thanks to the militia, and head for home. By necessity The Guardians must become further involved with the Blue Ridge Militia. If they want to continue protecting their homestead and others, they will need the additional men and firepower.

What an incredible series. Well written with exceptional narration. Passionate but comical characters. I can see this really happening.

It's ok, needs more substance

The saga continues, but fairly bland. It's as if the author is trying to spill out a large number of novels, and needs a bit of filler to put in them. Lots of words, not too creative. It's as if the author needs 400 pages to complete this book, but can only come up with 150 pages of material.
As for the narrator--I listen to audiobooks daily for years. He has the Kentucky accent down perfectly! However his inflection, and then too long of a pause, whenever he reads "and said...." gets cumbersome and old quickly. A bit too monotone as well for a book with little substance, which makes it a joy when one finally finishes it.
Saying that, if the author's creativity picks up and the narrator simply eliminates the words "and said" whenever he comes across it, I would buy another of their work.

Too short.

I enjoyed the story. But I feel it was too short and didn't really have a major direction. It just bounced around a little too much for me. And someone please teach the narrator how to pronounce the word "decorative."

Good book. Adventure, friendship and action

This was a fun installment to the series. A creative perspective on the end of days type books. The characters were realistic and weapon information was pretty accurate.
Definitely worth the money
