There's something pretty weird going on in the woods behind Cassie's house, the place where Ax and Tobias call home. It seems the Yeerks have figured out one very important fact: Andalites cannot survive without a feeding ground. Visser Three knows the "Andalite bandits" don't feed where he does, so there can only be one other place.

Now the Animorphs have to figure out a way to stop a bogus logging operation. Because if Visser Three finds Ax in the woods, nothing will stop him from finding the Animorphs.

This is one of the best Animorphs books, especially for early on in the series, and this production captures everything that makes that book so whacky and fun and occasionally nightmare-inducing.

Excellent book!

So happy they keep coming out with these!
Cassie’s narrator sounds spot-on! Good work!

I'm a long time Animorphs fan who's read a lot of the books an awful lot of times, but it's been a while since I revisited this one and I'm glad it's even better than I recalled. It's funny the things I didn't notice at eleven.

Johnson's Cassie in 4 was more mystical and removed from the situation, and I love her portraying the character's struggles and doubts here. It's hard to be a good person in a chaotic and violent world.

An even better book than I remembered it being

Love the whole series. I Saw there were 2 coming out every month. Where’s June’s? 🙃

More books coming soon?

This is one of the weaker books in the early series, but great narration and great character development. This book sets up #19 REALLY well.

So-so plot, great character development
