Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

One world has no place for dragons.

Another is ruled by them.

After a brutal attack leaves Finn Jones in an eight-week coma, he wakes with a terrifying new gift: numbers speak to him. Quantities, patterns, impossible calculations--his mind solves them before he can think. Doctors call it savant syndrome. The wrong people call it opportunity.

On the night of his nineteenth birthday, Finn is abducted and taken to a secret island facility, where other gifted captives are being used as guinea pigs for a forbidden experiment. Among them are Ken, a brilliant linguist, and Riku, a silent prodigy with reflexes no one should have. Then Finn learns the truth: his gift may be the missing key to a portal into another reality.

When the experiment spirals out of control, Finn and the others are thrown into a world where lightning does not exist, airships fly on dragon gas, and survival depends on steel, sorcery, and the people he least expected to trust--including the woman who kidnapped him.

But this new world is already at war. A white dragon is bound to a secret older than kingdoms, and the passage between worlds is far from closed. If Finn cannot master what his impossible mind has become, he may lose his way home forever--and hand two worlds to the wrong monster.

A fast-paced portal fantasy for readers 14+ and adult fantasy fans who love dragons, high-stakes adventure, and the collision of science and magic.

Pretty much the title. I like the storyline, the world, and many of the characters. However, the MC was a coward and very unlikable. Because of this, I wasn't able to get past the virtual voice. The narration has been getting better, but the story really needs to carry it regardless.

Story and world were okay but the MC was a coward, which made him unlikable.
