Story and world were okay but the MC was a coward, which made him unlikable.

Pretty much the title. I like the storyline, the world, and many of the characters. However, the MC was a coward and very unlikable. Because of this, I wasn't able to get past the virtual voice. The narration has been getting better, but the story really needs to carry it regardless.
