This is an account of a great race that swaps minds to travel across time and space. (Dr. Who fans, this was written many years before the good Doctor made his debut). The academic thinks his series of dreams is a "possession" that he tries to adapt and learn about. His investigations lead to horrible ramifications. Narration fits this perfectly, sounding just like an academic of the era dealing with this madness. Also try the excellent audio drama of this story in Dark Adventure Radio Theater by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society.
