"I find myself in a very strange and mysterious situation."

When Miss Mary Morstan is invited to meet a secretive stranger, she asks Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson to help her.

Captain Morstan has disappeared from his hotel without a trace. Should Miss Morstan dare to hope that her father is still alive?

What horrible scene awaits the famous detective and his friend when they break down the door to Bartholomew Sholto’s attic room? Who is the man with the wooden leg, and why is he so full of bitterness and hatred?

Will Toby, the cleverest tracker dog in London, help Holmes and Watson solve one of their most difficult cases?

I do not usually leave reviews of audiobooks, but since this book only has one vague rating, I felt compelled to write a more descriptive review.

First, do know that this is abridged. This should be clear based on its length, but sometimes we all tend to overlook these things. Having read the actual novel, I can say that this a faithful and fun adaptation that is divided into relatively short chapters. While I assume this series was meant for children, I still enjoyed the book; it's a good review of the story and its plot.

I tend to listen to audiobooks multiple times, and I enjoy listening to shorter and abridged versions of things because (1) I'm busy, and (2) I am more of a story/plot person than a character one. If you are similar, you should enjoy this reasonably priced audiobook.

Lastly, the performance is consistent and professional, but I am not a huge fan of the narrator's voice. This is a personal preference, so be sure to take advantage of the free sample to judge for yourself.

Happy Listening!
