Incredible, dark, unique

Saw this story as a suggestion on Reddit. So many people had amazing things to say that I figured I would give it a try. I ingested this book as fast as I could. Vivid and dark from start to finish. I suggest it to everyone I can.

Really interesting adventure

5/5 STARS! Science fiction is a new genre to me & this book is a must read for new fans! It’s an adventure filled with interesting characters and quite the plot. Not too hard to understand & a great listen on audiobook. Very immersive and unique.

An anthropological excursion with fascinating results

While the familiar settings and relatable characters set the tone for an adventurous seafaring voyage to strange lands, what comes after can only be described as [spoilers]. Multiple encounters with the kinds of [spoilers] that your parents warned you about before bedtime. A murder mystery. Other deaths from [spoilers] causes. All of this being narrated expertly by Richard Auty in numerous distinctive voices and conveyed in the journal entries of the shipboard natural historian.
