The companion novel to Rin Chupeco's The Girl from the Well, which Kirkus called a "Stephen King-like horror story".

After barely escaping the evil spirit that tried to destroy his soul, Tark vows to spend his life protecting the innocent. So when his mentor goes missing on a ghost-hunting expedition, Tark and Okiku join the search. But the Suicide Forest has seduced thousands of people to their deaths over the centuries and is thick with their sorrows.

With time running out and danger at every turn, Tark will either become a hero - or die trying.

At first I was worried that this book was not going to be as good as the first. I was so wrong. This out a whole new look at the main characters.

I decided to check this one out because I've recently become a fan of Michael Crouch. I'm so glad I did! The story is very well done. And it's a really, really good story as well! It's been a long time since I've read any type of ghost story but this one isn't a concept I've heard before. It kept me interested the whole way.

Surprisingly good!

Once again Rin Chupeco does not diss appoint! I was actually sad when I finished the book despite the happy ending, that I had finished it and wanted to continue her stories. I will definitely choose another of her books next.
