Critic reviews

"An outstanding ensemble of narrators delivers six short stories, all involving time travel. Jonathan Davis' narration of "For a Limited Time Only," is made particularly poignant by his strong, emotionally charged delivery, especially as the main character learns the reason for his transfer denial. Mirai narrates with a sense of wonder that perfectly embodies the woman's childlike acceptance of a dystopian world very different from the one her husband remembers. Each story is well performed and memorable, making this an excellent collection for listeners exploring new narrators."Kirkus Audiobook Reviews

I enjoyed four and a half out of six of the short stories which is a pretty good ratio. The half is the husband archive story (ending was unsatisfying and while I loved the concept and the story it felt like it needed to be bigger and fleshed out. Would love to read it as a fully realized novella or even full novel) and the vampire tour bus story was a miss for me. The stories go from bleak to heartbreaking but they are well written and engaging so you almost don’t mind your heart being stepped on again and again. The sixth story thankfully ends with a little bit of hopeful momentum so you aren’t completely flat (if the order was different and “For a limited time only” was the sixth book I would have started day drinking). Very good use of the basic science fiction question of “what if this time travel related thing happened” explored in six very unique ways.

Majority intriguing but definitely bleak

All of the stories were really fun. If I had a few million dollars, I would option at least "Cronos" for a mini series. can you imagine?

I really enjoyed the different approaches

The Scalzi story is the best of the lot. I have listened to it twice. All the other are pretty blah.

Good not great

I like time travel stories, but this is a collection of the most depressing stories !!

Depressing

I was really looking forward to this book and I only read half of it so maybe it gets better but the stories I read were very dark and not in a good way. It was kind of boring . A little hard to follow. Sort of bleak I didn’t enjoy it.

Disappointed
