The public thinks he’s a motorcycle cop, but he’s a civilian, and an inexperienced rider at that. This new job as a police motorcycle escort for funeral processions is the best job he’s ever had, affording him respect and dignity that has so far eluded him.

But can he make ends meet pursuing his interest in bikes and cemeteries, leading to a better life?

A colorful cast of characters help and hinder in his struggle to find meaning as they deliver the hearse and the deceased on its final journey to the grave. With constant reflections on mortality and a distinct sense of humor, Edwards tells his story with unflinching honesty and insight.

As a motorcycle rider, I enjoy consuming books featuring motorcyclists as the main character. I was curious what an entire book about escorting funeral processions on a police motorcycle would include. Turns out, Steve Edwards talked about everything from getting trained, to finding his place among his co-workers, to handling public perception, and more. What I liked most was Steve's stories about doing the job (riding a police motorcycle to escort funeral processions). Great storytelling! During most chapters, I felt like I was on the job with Steve. He described locations, weather conditions, descriptions of co-workers, job duties, funeral attendees, etc in detail. There were serious moments, but Steve included both humor and safety messages aimed directly at riders. I felt like Steve wrote this book for riders like me to enjoy. There is universal appeal in there too though. Who hasn't started a new job and had to find their way from novice to expert? There were some relatable moments in this book. I would definitely recommend this book. Entertaining and relatable, yet unique. I didn't know police motorcycle escorts for funeral processions were a thing. Now, I know!

I loved it! Great storytelling!
