The story was fantastic and just what I have come to expect from a Bobby book. The narration on the other hand? They made Bobby sound like a nervous teenager and poor Nori I don’t even know what to say about that nasally voice! I finally gave up on the audio and just read the kindle version

The Video Tape by Brian O’Sullivan is a sharp, engaging mystery that pulls you in from the first page. At the heart of it is Bobby McGowan—a thoroughly likable and relatable protagonist whose charm and wit make him easy to root for. What really sets this story apart is the way Bobby approaches each twist in the case. His detective work isn’t just smart—it’s refreshingly inventive, and sometimes even a little lucky.

While the audiobook brings the story to life in a new dimension, the narrator’s voice felt like a slightly imperfect fit for Bobby’s personality. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but the tone didn’t always align with Bobby’s energy and grounded character. Still, the strength of the writing and the story shine through, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the mystery.

A solid, enjoyable read (or listen) with a great lead character and an original approach to the genre. Looking forward to more from Brian O’Sullivan!

As usual, Bobby McGowan is top-notch!

The series has a very interesting way of delivering a mystery. By the third book, I am still interested in what kind of antics Bobby will get into. I do feel the love interest was a little unnecessary and the dialogue a little cheesy, but it wouldn’t stop me from continuing the series as long as he creates them

I really enjoyed this 3rd book from this amazing author!!! My only complaint is that the narration wasn't the same as the first two books, not a huge deal I know, but my brain took a while to realize who was talking. But it was a great story, well written, and I'm already ready for another one!

Great story!!

It was hard to get into this third book due to the audio. I love this author but not this rendition.

Good plot - odd performance
