Among Hillerman's Best

Among the best of Hillerman's Leaphorn/Chee books, this book has excellent character development and a strong plot. This kind of writing is why the series has been so popular for so long.

Another good one

I really enjoy the detail in the descriptions of the characters and the surroundings. All of Leaphorn, Chee books are well done who dunnits with minimal use of weapons and other violence. The descriptions of and respect for Native American culture is informative and refreshing.
