First published in 1908, The Wind in the Willows belongs to a golden age of children’s book. These charming tales of the riverbank, describing the adventures of Ratty, Mole, Badger, and their irrepressible but conceited friend, Toad of Toad Hall, have become classics loved as much, perhaps, by adults as by children.

I very much enjoyed the story of mole, rat and ,badger but the last parts of the book involves toad more than anything it is quite the adventure he had but I would just soon hear more about the simple creatures and their life on the river.

Where does The Wind in the Willows rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best books written for both adults and children. The prose are rich and poetic. The characters engaging and the adventure pure fun. Martin Jarvis' voice makes this story a pleasure to listen to again and again. It is only too bad it is an abridged version. Although well edited I wanted to hear it in it's entirety.

Well done!
