The hunt begins…

I’ve been on lockdown in the Hidden City for weeks now. Everyone thinks I’m hiding from the Alpha because I disobeyed his orders one too many times. And, well… I have. He’s coming for me; I know that.

But he’s also coming for Myf, my mysterious agoraphobic pantry-dwelling Welsh friend, and I can’t let him take her. She’s hiding a dangerous secret—one I need her to share with me so I can protect her.

It might be too late. The Alpha is coming, and I’m not ready to face him.

And the worst part is, he’s not coming alone.

The Wolf Vs The Shifter is book three in the Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth, a hot new Urban Fantasy series by bestselling author Lauretta Hignett.

Oh it’s getting juicy. I can’t wait to see what that hidden darkness can do. Daphne is one of my favorite female characters.

The violence, the psychopathy, the many types of child abuse, moving through the most traumatized and disturbingly casual torture scenarios.. figuratively and physically.
This series goes too far for my liking.
Supernatural fantasy tends a LOT MORE toward enjoyable with some drama but this series feels like the memoir of an extremely abused woman working out her demons.

I feel like this series is vastly mislabeled and don’t recommend if you don’t feel like walking with Daphne through the hell realms.
I also find that perhaps there is too much exposition during times that aren’t really important to the story, so I found myself skipping forward through large chunks of the story, without losing important details.

A much more violent & unhinged duplicate of Chloe

This is the 3rd book I've read in this series and I didn't like the excessive violence in it. A child and the protag were horribly harmed and I skipped a few chapters just so I didn't have to listen to that part of the story.
