Second Chance on the Island

I’m a total sucker for the “other woman” trope, and this story delivered perfectly—without any cheating.

Two years ago, Dean and Elika had a two-week island fling while he was in Honolulu for work. Dean worked in the art industry, and Elika, who always loved art, was working as a maid at the resort. It was supposed to be just a fling. But when Dean left without saying goodbye, they moved on with their separate lives.

Fast forward to the present—Dean is back in Hawaii… engaged. His fiancée? Elika’s cousin. He had no idea. She comes from money, class, and the world Dean was used to. But Elika’s life in the past two years has been anything but easy—losing her father in a car accident and caring for her sister, who was left partially handicapped from the same crash. She now works seven days a week at the luxury resort as a bartender, server, caterer, and maid.

Seeing each other again stirs up old feelings neither can ignore. As Dean spends more time around Elika, the blinders come off and he begins to see his fiancée and her family for what they truly are—cruel, disrespectful people.

This story had so much more depth than I expected, and I truly enjoyed every page!

Absolutely fantastic

This story is absolutely fantastic. Did I want to throttle Dean? Yes. Did I think that he was a snob? Yes. Did I think that Felicity was cuckoo bananas? Yes. But I love this story. The drama, the angst, the feelings! There’s not a lot of spice, but that’s OK. I absolutely love this story.

Why?!

Why did the author made MC bi at the last part of the story. Is that irrelevant to the story? It was good until it was not.
