Detective Inspector Dermot O'Hara enjoys life as a policeman in the small Irish coastal town of Kenmare where his greatest challenges are lost library tickets and how to find more time to fish. This peaceful idyll is disrupted when death comes to town. And not just any death... O'Hara's career is on the line after the corpse of a US Senator is found on a remote hillside. O'Hara discovers that the Senator, searching for his Irish roots, has uncovered an old, still burning hatred from the time of the Great Famine. Dermot needs all the help he can get to solve the crime but the further he delves into the mystery it becomes clear that nothing is quite what it seems. This first book in the series introduces us to Dermot, his long-suffering wife Jo and their disreputable, yet loveable friends in Crowley's Bar.

I hate virtual voice! I prefer a real person narrating the story! virtual voice doesn't have any character ro it.

Did not enjoy robotic delivery - the Rhythm was off - it was very obvious. Would not recommend

Robotic story teller- spoiled the experience

A decent story ruined by AI narration. I am never going to listen to a book read with “virtual voice” narration again. Too flat with no emphasis in exciting parts. American accent was completely wrong for a story set in rural Ireland.

Had this book been read by a human, I'm sure the story would have been much more enjoyable. I couldn't finish. This was my 2nd attempt at generated reading and will not try again for some time.

monotonous tone of computer voice
