When i first read/listened to the sample where one of the two MC's is standing outside the recruiters office on a harsh world where he has lived most of his life on the streets as a rugrat with while drinking acid water and rain, i was immediately exited thinking we would go on to basic training and watch him show his tough street urchin skills and kick some ass. instead this book completely skips basic training and we skip to him graduating with honor and apparently having gotten some special training in hand to hand combat. but despite this and his hard upbringing he is seriously timid he just wants to be the perfect marine and when he does a single little thing wrong he gets angry at himself. He even kicks the ass of the other MC's love interest because apparently even though he have lived his early life in a brothel and the remaining before the marines on the streets he knows nothing about S*X (the birds and the bees)

but enough about him. the book is 15 hours long but you can easily skip the first 11 hours because NOTHING happens even then when things then starts happening in the last 4 hours, it still ends up boring and uninteresting
