I’m f--ked.

The life I have lived for the past 10 years is built solely on lies and secrets.

But I can’t help myself.

I’m in love with two different men. And one of them is my brother-in-law.

He’s my drug. My fire. My addiction. But he’s married to my best friend. And I’m married to my husband.

I’m not ashamed. I have no guilt.

None.

I’m not only f--ked. I’m a f--ked up person.

This is the story of how I ruined my life.

And the life of the one I love most.

Your with her and I’m with him, on the road to nowhere. When friendship and brotherhood stand in the way, the unattainable dream gets pushed farther and farther away.
This new adult college romance leads into life after college. With betrayal, guilt, and friendship built on lies these four characters have a loosely based loyalty to each other.

Delaney and Brielle are close college friends who live together. Brielle considers her a sister and cherishes her friendship with Delaney.

Nate and Julian are brothers. They are a close knit family who share time with family.

Brielle and Nate’s actions stem from a past that’s reflected upon in bits and pieces. The full backstory isn’t exposed initially giving you an uncertainty as to why they made the choices they did.

This is the type of story that will leave its mark. It left its mark on me. Talk about a book hangover. I couldn’t stop dwelling on this story. I would go over and over in my head what would I do differently in this situation? My answer: never get yourself into this type of situation to begin with.

The narrators: Katie McAble is the voice of Delaney and Brielle. Katie’s performance of Brielle’s character was read with perfect tone and emotions.
Ryan Grey was the voice of Julian and Nate. While Ryan has a great masculine voice I still couldn’t picture his voice as Nate’s. His narration didn’t hinder my ability to enjoy this book. I still appreciated having a dual narration.

I ran thru a gamet of emotions the first time I read this and another level of emotions listening to the audio. That push n pull drove me mad. So many opportunities passed by. Just when fate would work in their favor another surprise would be lurking around the corner to steal it away.
It’s definitely a lesson on forgiveness because what some of these characters did in my opinion was unforgivable, but Callie had other plans for them. So I remained patient and waited for the timing to be right for their fated forbidden romance to get the opportunity it deserved.

While I struggled with the choices made by these characters I still found the story. With time as their enemy this couple endured years of conflicting issues before a second chance would ever occur.
