Enjoyable, clean story of courage & honor

The narrator has an excellent voice & each character is portrayed & voiced very well. This is a clean story, with no swearing or explicit sex. The basic plot follows a young (16) warrior who is from a community of warriors descended from royal guards. Bravery & honor are the most respected traits within the community & the main character exemplifies this. The story is well-told, both the writing & the narration. Character interaction & growth are paramount to the storyline. This series is my go-to for when I am down with frequent headaches, due to both the soothing voice of the narrator & the excellence of the story.

I listen to the whole series at least once a month, it’s great. Give it a go if you haven’t already

I'm strangely attracted to this series...

These books very much remind me of Nathan Lowells golden age of clipper ships books. I am strangely compelled by them.
