Jack Reacher hunts the hunter in the third novel in Lee Child’s New York Times–bestselling series.

Reacher’s anonymity in Florida is shattered by an investigator who’s come looking for him. But hours after his arrival, the stranger is murdered. Retracing the PI’s trail back to New York, Reacher’s compelled to find out who was looking for him and why. He never expected the reasons to be so personal—and twisted.

I continue the saga of the Jack Reacher series, this one was performed very well by Mr. McClain. I think I read a review that was a little rough on this narrator in the series, I would have to say that Jonathon did an excellent job in my eye. I really like this series, different than a normal cop and robber story line, but still every bit as engaging. I think of this as a Columbo on steriods. A bit odd, but great story lines and character development. Good work.

This book was pretty good overall. Sort of felt like a mystery to me. I did enjoy learning about the remains of our fallen soldiers and the lengths that are taken to bring everyone home. This book kept up a faster pace than others that I heard.

Everyone hates on Johnathan McClain but I find his reading very good. It's not the best but it's not the worst either.

What made the experience of listening to Tripwire the most enjoyable?

The narrator as Jack. Really gave him a cool effective yet passionate demeanor.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Anytime Jack was in a conflict. The love story. But thats just me personally. I dont go for love stories. this one is VERY well written tho.

What does Johnathan McClain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jack really feels like a flesh and blood human. I felt like i had a known him forever by the time the book was over.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I grimaced alot at the villians doings. So cruel and callous. I truly hated him.

Any additional comments?

The story and mystery wasnt as good as the past two books but i really enjoyed this one other wise.

Story dragged a little but otherwise excellent.

Where does Tripwire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was a fun read and as good as most of the other Jack Reacher books that I have read.

What other book might you compare Tripwire to and why?

This is a pretty typical Jack Reacher book, however, I enjoyed the romance that was sprinkled into this one.

Have you listened to any of Jonathan McClain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first Jonathan McClain performance that I have listened to and frankly, I wish they all were by Jonathan McClain. Dick Hill sounds like an old man and his female voices end up sounding like drag queens. I will search through all the Reacher series and read the ones by Jonathan McClain first. I truly don't understand why Dick Hill has such a loyal following.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I scheduled a weekend of pressure washing the driveways and walkways just so that I could finish this book.

Any additional comments?

Lee Child, if you are listening, let's have more Jonathan McClain

Finally a Reacher book NOT read by Dick Hill
