Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, where bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's life is about to implode in Janet Evanovich's wildest, hottest novel yet!

FIRST A STRANGER APPEARS
While chasing down the usual cast of miscreants and weirdos Stephanie discovers that a crazed woman is stalking her.

THEN THE STRANGER REVEALS HER SECRETS
The woman dresses in black, carries a 9mm Glock, and has a bad attitude and a mysterious connection to dark and dangerous Carlos Manoso …street name, Ranger.

NEXT, SOMEBODY DIES
The action turns deadly serious, and Stephanie goes from hunting skips to hunting a murderer.

SOON, THE CHASE IS ON
Ranger needs Stephanie for more reasons than he can say. And now, the two are working together to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a lunatic from raising the body count. When Stephanie Plum and Ranger get too close for comfort, vice cop Joe Morelli (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) steps in.

Will the ticking clock stop at the stroke of twelve, or will a stranger in the wind find a way to stop Stephanie Plum…forever? Filled with Janet Evanovich's trademark action, nonstop adventure, and sharp humor, Twelve Sharp shows why her novels have been called "hot stuff" (The New York Times), and Evanovich herself "the master" (San Francisco Examiner).

Critic reviews

“Stephanie Plum, Evanovich’s ditzy but delightful bounty hunter heroine, returns—this time to solve her own career crisis. Actress Lorelei King gives each character a distinct—and hilarious—voice.” —People on Eleven on Top with praise for the narrator

“Narrator King steps neatly into Stephanie's shoes, her agile voice conveying not only Stephanie's fear and frustration, but her plaintive, why-does-this-always-happen--to-me attitude. King also nails the manly, mysterious voice of gorgeous bounty hunter Ranger, Stephanie's sometime superhero… Her vocal stylings are generally as superb as Evanovich's zany characterizations.” —Publishers Weekly on Ten Big Ones

“Narrator Lorelei King does a fabulous job, as each character is assigned a distinctive voice, thus milking the humor for every drop.” —The Boston Globe on To the Nines

“As addictive as Fritos.” —People on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Hot and sassy.” —Boston Herald on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Stunning.” —Booklist on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Irresistible.” —Houston Chronicle on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Brilliantly evocative.” —Denver Post on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Dorothy Parker with a Jersey accent.” —Time on the Stephanie Plum novels

“Models of screwball artistry, fueled by inventive twists.” —The New York Times on the Stephanie Plum novels

I really loved this book. It was so action packed, lots of humor, new characters (Pickle) and learning more about Ranger (and him vulnerable).
I found it hilarious that both Ranger and Morelli moved into Stephanie's apartment. The only thing that would have made it better is if they both slept in the same bed (at the same time) with her. Sizzle.
Glad to see Sally Sweet in the story. Grandma Mazur of coarse is a favorite. Melvin Pickle was a great addition. Connie is a favorite. I don't like Joyce and the fact that they make her a better bounty hunter than Stephanie. Come on. Just make Stephanie better than Joyce. Lula and Tank getting together was priceless and I hope there is more of a story there. Sally, Lula and Grandma in a band together was a hot mess. I wish I had Mama Plum to cook for me. She's a mess but still manages to take care of everyone. Papa Plum is just trying to get by and I am glad that he just cruises and has his comments but is not an a-hole (like he could be with that household).
I loved Stephanie going crazy when Scroggs had her in captivity in the motor home. It was great. It reminded me of a British sitcom.
I gushed when Stephanie told Joe she loved him. Listening to the interview at the end of this book and how Janet states she doesn't want it to be a romance I have to disagree and I think there could be the romance and be extremely dysfunctional and wouldn't ruin the story. But Janet is the creator and I am just the reader who is pro Plum/Morelli.

The characters and description are great, nicely enhanced by fine narrative presentation. Just had to keep listening. This was my first experience with Miss Plum, a very enjoyable one.

There's simply nothing like a Janet Evanovich book narrated by Lorelei King. I would urge any member of Audible to add these books to their collection just for the fun of it. When I start listening to one of these books it is like a reunion with old friends. Stephanie, Grandma Mazur, Lula, Ranger and the other characters make the drive to work or exercise walk an enjoyable and humorous experience. Ms. King brings the characters alive. I listened to a few of Ms. Evanovich's books on audio and then read the ones I had not heard. Reading the books was almost as good as hearing them on audio because I had Ms. King's character voices in my head. There are sometimes tough decisions when purchasing an audio book but Twelve Sharp narrated by Ms. King is not one of them.
