Many surprises.

Great story. I wish the relationship had been introduced differently. It seemed they were in love on day two when it had been years in the making. on the other hand, it is great for those who want romance first, mystery second.

Great Author with hard to listen to narrator.

The author writes great books and the first one in this series made me want to get this one as the narrator was great. There is something about this particular narrator that is very hard to listen to for me. She pauses after every sentence in a way that is not natural. Even when sped up the segmented speech just is hard to listen to. Make sure you preview and if you can listen then you are in for a good book.

Thrilling romantic suspense with great narration!

Forbidden office romance, fake relationship, & mutual pining with a fast-paced mystery made Two Seconds Too Late unforgettable! I loved this 2nd book in the Jeopardy Falls series & wow did it keep me up late reading. Dani Pettrey’s created another exciting romantic suspense & I can’t wait for more.

Riley & Greyson find themselves staying at a luxury couples retreat in the New Mexico wilderness when Riley’s friend Kelly goes missing. As colleagues in a private detective firm with Riley’s brothers, they work closely together. There’s always been an underlying smoldering attraction, but neither one realizes the other has the same feelings until they go undercover & all the emotions surface, especially when they’re forced to share a room & pretend to be a couple.

Unfortunately, someone realizes who Riley is & that she holds a valuable key. As Riley & Greyson try to investigate Kelly’s disappearance, their lives are at constant risk. Though both Riley & Greyson have a past to work through, their relationship might have a chance, if they can survive.

I loved Riley & Greyson! The chemistry between them was sizzling. I enjoyed how all the times they “pretend” to be a couple is all too real. Loved seeing their relationship grow from friends to more.

Part of the story is told from Kelly’s POV who’s on the run. It’s intense as all the puzzle pieces are revealed & a psychopathic cult leader & his minions go after both Kelly & Riley. There’s plenty of action & adventure spanning two states & the unforgiving wilderness. There’s also a lovely, natural faith thread woven throughout.

I purchased the audiobook & thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. She did a fabulous job voicing both male & female characters. The story was made even more intense & thrilling with the narration.

Highly recommend to inspirational romantic suspense fans! Though part of a series it’s easily read as a standalone.

Pettrey never disappoints. Engaging, gripping, entertaining story. Now we wait for the next book.
Audio performance was good too.
