A rebel with a cause . . .Paul Fraser's heart burns with the need for vengeance against the earl who executed his father and drove the Scots from their homes. But when he learns that his enemy hurt the woman he loves, Paul has sworn to destroy him. Can Juliette overcome the darkness of her past in the arms of the man she once loved? Or will her secrets tear them apart?

Any additional comments?
This is Book 2 in the Secrets in Silk series. The author does, however, give several mentions of what happened in the previous book. The 4-book series are romances of four sisters and their hope for love and good marriages. This book is about Juliette, a woman who loves math and numbers, because they make sense and have order. She has a close friend whose constant company she kept while they lived in Scotland. It was a platonic relationship, albeit a close one. He, Paul Fraser, had gone off to Edinburgh to study and became a physician. Although we think highly of doctors here in the USA, they are not in the same class as royalty.
The evil Earl Strathland seeks further destruction and causes trouble for the crofters in the area.
The story has more action and devastation than in the first book. For that reason I liked it even more than it.
This is a fanciful romance set in 1810 England and Scotland. It's a quick, enjoyable read. The narration is excellent.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I tried to like it, but in the end I grabbed the text version and skimmed it. I was invested enough to want to know what happened, but not enough to sit through the recording.Would you listen to another book narrated by Sue Pitkin?
Her accents weren't terrible, but she spoke just about every sentence, whether declarative or otherwise, with roughly the same inflection. I'm guessing her accent was fake, as that seems to be a common problem of narrators putting on a non-natural accent: they spend so much effort trying to sound accurate that they don't sound natural.Any additional comments?
The book itself was pretty slow. There's a lot of backstory and historical accuracy, but there are also a lot of scenes that don't move the plot forward very much. The slow pace combined with the mediocre narrator, and I just gave up.Grab it on sale, probably not worth a credit.

What did you love best about Unraveled by the Rebel?
I loved that both Juliette and Paul were both likable characters. I loved that even though she didn't encourage him in the beginning to pursue her that he did. He wanted to recapture that lost relationship from their past that he could still feel was there.Who was your favorite character and why?
Juliette's sister Amelia was my favorite character and I can't wait until she has her own story.Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when they first were intimate with each other because it really showed that Juliette was willing to move beyond her comfort zone in order to have a real marriage with Paul. That she loved him enough to try to be brave and face her fears. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The time Juliette spend with her son Mathew.Great Read. I didn't want it to end.

the story kept my interest

I hate to read "could care less." Authors and/or editors should know better. Unless the narrator read it wrong.
This was entertaining. The Earl is a creep. Paul is a sweetheart. Juliette had a rough experience a year or so ago - have I mentioned the Earl is a creep? - and has to deal with the ramifications of that. Paul helps.
Parts were good
