So good

I absolutely love every single minute of this book. I’ve already downloaded another one of these books. The characters are amazing and the performance is amazing.

I really wanted to love this the narration was okay. Unfortunately the male narrators interpretation of a Russian American accent was a huge miss. I'm sure most people didn't even notice it but he sounded so much more Transylvanian than Russian.(My fiance is first generation American who's father was from the Ukraine, & he laughed out loud when he heard the male leads voice(His family is from the Ukraine).
Aside from narration honestly the story was just a little weak.
It wasn't bad it just didn't hold my interest real well.
Smut was kinda lack luster to I love ddlg kink & bdsm themes but even with the heavy amount of good spicy scenes it's just missed it's mark for me.

The book was not for this series

This series had a certain something that made it great, but this book felt like the author was trying too hard to make “equals”. The characters were not likable, I didn’t dislike them, they were just meh. Think about the very first book in this series, and of Leah and Kieran, their dynamic was so good and they were individually great characters. This book however, just felt forced. Their dynamic didn’t feel real to me and even the work romance trope wasn’t done well. There was very little interaction with other characters in the book which didn’t help. I’m not sure if this book is shorter than the others (I’ll have to check), but it just felt very hollow and rushed. And this is coming from someone that bookmarks scenes and replay often. I recently reread Take Me, Daddy from start to finish and maybe that’s why I’m being so harsh on this book. It just is not giving me the same feels. Also side note: it felt like she was trying tooooo hard make Ana’s character to be like Aida, but Aida is in a league of her own, and that’s the charm of her. Ana’s need to always “win”, prove her independence, etc, was just annoying and made her less likable.

I must mention, the narration was amazing as always. But this too might need a change, there’s only so much range a voice actor can do and it’s starting to all blur together. The male narrator doing an entirely different accent helps (from Irish to Russian) but the female narrator is starting to sound repetitive (with the exception of Aida).
