Have you ever wanted to pull up the curtain and look at what the US Army was really like during the Vietnam War?

From enlistment through Basic, Officer, and Flight training, veteran pilot Richard Guay will take you on a journey many have never witnessed…

Sit with Richard in the cockpit of the venerable UH-1 Huey helicopter as he maneuvers the sky to accomplish missions, protect his troops, and put to the test his years of training to stop the spread of Communism in Southeast Asia.

Through a journey from steamy jungles to war-torn skies over battlefields, Richard’s raw and informative recollection is a story not only of war, but of brotherhood and the will to survive. Through countless helicopter flights, readers will experience both the fear and the excitement of war firsthand.

Vietnam Warhorse is a thrilling memoir detailing years of US Army training, helicopter warfare tactics, and piloting techniques employed during actual enemy engagement. With a touch of humor, this is an intense and fresh perspective on the Vietnam War for anyone interested in history or aviation!

The story was great, no complaints. The AI narration left A LOT to be desired. I get that this is probably a good way to make audiobooks more affordable, but there needs to be some level of quality control. The AI cannot mimic the understood syntax and voice of a human writer conveying thoughts via written word to a human reader. In general, the AI did a satisfactory job, but occasionally it would hiccup. Subtleties like voice inflection were not understood by the AI and it honestly pulled me out of the story. This could be a simple fix, but it’s going to require the use of a human editor performing the duties of quality control.

Great Story; AI Narration is the Worst

Virtual voice read story made the audio book terrible. It made common words unintelligible. I think it is a good story, but could not discern much during much of the time.

the poor quality of the virtual voice

While all veteran stories hold value, I found this lacking in combat descriptions which is fine but couples with the lack of family details left me feeling saddened. Just another soldier who performed his job and came home, who are unsung heroes.
Unfortunately, Virtual Voice fails to convey personality and or feeling in the words. Often mispronouncing words common in the lexicon of the Vietnam veteran. It does a disservice to this memoir.

The narration was awful. I will never listen to a computer read book again, no emotion in the voice.
