To what lengths will a woman go to save her family? Web-radio personality Bo Riccardi is pushed beyond her mental and physical limits when her husband, Oscar, is kidnapped by a man from her dark past. The abductor commands her to interview him live on her show, with Oscar’s life on the line. Giving in, though, creates an endless nightmare for Bo, as Oscar’s captor begins to destroy her career and alienate everybody she loves. Bo’s secret asset is chromesthesia, seeing colorful shapes that reveal the intentions behind anyone’s speech. She can literally watch what they say. But relying too much on this gift renders her vulnerable to the madman’s purpose, making her even less likely to rescue Oscar - and escape the guilt and shame that binds her to the kidnapper.

what a story

i did not expected this and was totally gripped! fast paced and thrilling from start to finish!!!!

Unique action thriller

A radio personality with some special powers gets tested when a man kidnaps her husband and holds him hostage. He demands a live interview with her in which he brings up her past demons and their connection.
 
The story was interesting. I was captivated throughout. I don’t feel that the synesthesia added to the story necessarily, but it was a fascinating thing to learn about. The story was fast paced with twists and turns and the ultimate reveal providing a riveting climax.
 
Amy narrated well and I enjoyed her various character voices and overall performance.
 
I recommend this story as a good action thriller with involved characters and captivating plot.

Exciting listen

This was a great audiobook! I loved the narration and the rare medical condition made the descriptions so interesting. I had no idea that chromesthesia even existed. The slow unraveling of Bo’s past and how it shaped her current situation was very engaging. I’ll definitely check our books by this author and narrator again!

Chilling!

This is a very chilling psychological thriller. The writing is excellent and the story is plotted and paced well. The characters are realistic and Amy Deuchler's outstanding narration gives them distinctive and appropriate voices. You'll not want to pause this one.

Good Story

This story evoked tons of emotions from me - some frustrating at not so smart choices. However I believe if an author can get me to yell at a character while I am reading/listening then they have done a great job. The narrator was absolutely wonderful at bringing the story to life . The story kept my interest and I look forward to more by this author & narrator
