through and through, a wonderful story.

regardless of whether or not you are involved in the furry fandom, this book has a lot of lessons that would benefit everyone greatly. it does get a lil bit hot in parts but hey, this is marketed towards a demographic. it's not as steamy as "Bridges", but it'll still get ya half chubbin if you are into furry stuff like that. great book, definitely reccomended especially If you grew up struggling with your sexuality and judgement from others including family who have outright disowned you or your sibling regarding it

Best book I have ever read!

I loved this book! This book has great character development, and plot. Kory and Samaki are both relatable to young people trying to find there ways. This book really brought emotions to me that I never had thought I could get from reading a book. This is why I rate this a 5/5. This is my favorite book!

Coming of Age for an otter and a fox.

This was a sweet coming of age story, set in Kyell Gold's oh so very realistic anthropomorphic world. I love Gold's "out of position" series. And while i very much enjoyed this book, I think my empathy toward MC Kory was just mildly tempered by the fact that I am way way beyond my teen years, making it difficult to connect with some aspects of MC Kory's actions and thinking. I loved Sumaki, but found Kory a little too whiney at times, but the realistic scenerios were true to the situations and I think that was more "me than him...lol".
As in all of Kyell Gold's books, I love the way he pulls in aspects of each furry characters animal lifestyle. The way the otter's homes have waterways and pools incorporated into the regular design of the house to accommodate the aquatic animals nature was just awesome.
Descriptions of full body dryers at home and pool for the fully furry, so subtle yet adding such colorful illustration to the story.
This is Kory the otters coming of age story, and it is poignant, pleasurable and sad, told with realistic scenes paralleling young gay teens of today. Some great side characters.
I wish there had been some resolution between Kory and his estrangement of lifelong best friend Sal, but the HEA between him and Sumaki was sweetly satisfying.
The narrator did a good, but not great job. His voice is pleasant and clear, but not a whole lot of distinction between character voices at times.

I love it

I couldn't put it down. It reminded me so much of my younger days when I met my husband, almost 11 years ago now, so many new experiences, good and bad, but this book really stuck with me, and it was just amazing.

Another fantastic KG story

Waterways was my first Kyell Gold story after Volle, and to be honest it is better in my opinion. Relatable characters in an all-too-relatable situation combined with good interpersonal relationships between the main character, his romantic interest, and the other more background characters, without sacrificing detail.

I come back to it from time-to-time for a great read, enjoying the narrator's rendition of the story. It may be nice to revisit Kory and Samaki in their college years, but the story stands well enough on its own that I can be satisfied where it ends.

I'm always looking forward to more from Gold, and can easily recommend Waterways to those looking to get into furry romance.
