Hotelier Stephen Sanderson is dead. Stabbed after hosting a police officer’s wedding. Chief Superintendent David Ashworth is a family friend of the victim and assigns the case to Meredith. Sanderson had a past that the family would rather keep quiet if it’s not related to his murder, but Sanderson’s life style provides the police with many suspects, including some in his own family.

Patsy Hodge is trying to track down a dangerous stalker with very little to go on, and is surprised when one of her suspects is required to supply an alibi for one of Meredith’s.

As their investigations gather pace, it is revealed that all their suspects are connected one to another in a web of deceit.

Who will untangle the web, and will it be in time to stop others being harmed?

I am a all around fan of MK Turner and her books but I am seriously attached to the Meredith and Hodge series. The continuing character development and story thread that grows with each book allow me to immerse myself more with each book. I loved this one bunches and was frustrated at the conclusion as it felt more like a possible cliff hanger than any of previous(only because I wanted to ask more questions and the book was finished...more to come I know). That being said I believe this series is best read in order but could be done as stand alone novels. I am always eager for the next challenge this crew will encounter and the twists in this book were angsty and mysterious in ways that I will not share...no spoilers from me...ever. In addition Lee Beddow once again does an incredible job of giving each character life and personality that remains true from the first time they appear in the series. He is a talented narrator(I think he could make listen to the dictionary on audio book pleasant.) It is worth your time and enjoyment to read Web of Deceit.

Another winner and more excitement.
