With nowhere to go, no one to help her, will Leigh flee into the arms of the one person she shouldn’t run to? Don’t miss this fifth and final installment in the Casteel family saga from the New York Times bestselling author behind Flowers in the Attic and My Sweet Audrina, now major Lifetime movie events.

Leigh VanVoreen had to escape from Boston’s Farthinggale Manor. The foul secret she harbored within her seemed to darken her life forever. Jillian, her mother, would not believe her, and Tony Tatterton, her stepfather, had betrayed her cruelly.

But the pure devotion of Luke Casteel promised her hope and respect. Only Luke knew her deepest of secrets…only Luke would love and protect her. Bravely she bore the suspicions of the Willies’ hillfolk, as she tried to grasp the happiness that had so long eluded her. Leigh prayed with all her heart that her bright, shining dreams would save her from tragedy at last.

Love the story but the whispering narrative made it hard to listen to. At sometimes couldn't understand the words.

Whisper much!

Had to push myself through this book. It is the last of the series and couldn’t leave the story unfinished. Through the entire book the narrator was in a whispering voice until changing to other characters becoming very loud. Could not use headphones for this book. I found listening to it while driving was the only way I could get through the book being able to turn up and turn down the volume as needed. I did enjoy the entire series.

Awful narrator

I struggled to finish this... the narrator's breathy version of Leigh made it difficult for me to listen. I will always love the story, but I doubt very seriously I'll ever listen to this book again, by this narrator.

I have loved this book as long as I can remember..

I loved the series. I have read it many times, but this is the 1st time I listened to it on audible. The narrator for this book in the series whispers in a weird fake style that drove me crazy. I could only listen in small doses to finish. I think audible should re-do this one with a better narrator.

Narration made it hard to keep listening

The only reason I finished this audiobook was because it was the last book in the Casteel series which I love. This narrator made me question my decision to finish it here vs. just buying the book and reading it myself. Her whispering voice made it very hard to hear even with volume up and a huge distraction from the story . So disappointed.

The narrator ruined this audiobook for me!
