The locals warned them. The science couldn't explain it. Now, the hunt is on—and they are the prey.

In the deep, isolated woods of Appalachia, a patch of land lies sick and silent. They call it Hemlock Hollow, a place where technology fails and nature itself seems to hold its breath. For research scientist Dr. Alistair Finch and his team, it’s the perfect place to study a mysterious ecological blight. They believe in data, in observation, in rational explanations.

But the hollow doesn't care about reason.

The warnings from the tight-lipped townspeople were just folklore. The strange twig dolls were just local superstition. But as the team ventures deeper, their equipment malfunctions, the forest grows unnaturally still, and they find evidence of something that defies all scientific explanation: a predator of impossible size and terrifying intelligence.

Trapped by a deliberate rockslide and cut off from the outside world, the team realizes the horrifying truth. The blight isn't a disease of the land; it’s a symptom of the ancient, malevolent thing that claims the hollow as its hunting ground. This creature is more than a beast—it’s a legend come to life, a monster that toys with its victims and thrives on their fear.

As the full moon rises, a desperate fight for survival begins. To escape the hollow, they must unearth the secret of a centuries-old curse, a cycle of blood and transformation that has claimed everyone who has dared to trespass. Because in this forest, the real terror isn't just being hunted—it’s what happens when you survive the attack.

Perfect for fans of The Ritual and Annihilation, this creature feature blends relentless survival horror with chilling Appalachian folklore into a supernatural thriller you won't be able to put down.

Good wolf story. I appreciated that the author chose words that the virtual voice could read correctly. Example it read doctor instead of d period r period. The characters had a chance to leave safely on the first day, but chose to stay and finish the job. Dumb educated characters. It kept me entertained while I was doing things around the house. I will look for other books by this author. Thank you for a fun afternoon.

I actually enjoyed listening to this one. These stories are great because they bring back the horror and terror of the Werewolf. Does not glamorize but presents it at its most basic and brutal nature.
