What Lies Dreaming

Famine wracks second-century Rome. Food riots rage in the streets, and the emperor struggles to hold on to power in the midst of a burgeoning coup. He recalls the German Legion to Rome to restore order.

Unbeknownst to him, a hidden evil slips into the city along with the returning Legion. As civil war boils over and black magics run unchecked, an ancient horror stirs from its dreams, rousing after eons of slumber.

great story but...

you can hear in some of the narrators
dog barking and notification sound such level of production is great for hpmor but it's unfitting for audible but great story wish you would write more

Recording quality changes, and it's bad

The story seemed very well written and engaging. It could have used some element of human mirth. The recording quality started off very good. It even included a nifty device I had never heard before. Instead of verbally declaring a chapter change, instead a distinct page turning sound effect was used. I really enjoyed that.
Then it all went bad. All crew and equipment changed. I can handle the book suddenly having different actor(s), which it did. The true problem was the recording equipment and the resulting quality. Everything was muted, hollow and with a slight echo chamber effect. It made the recording suddenly unintelligible in my car. It would have remained at least difficult if not in my car. I just had to stop as it was worthless to proceed.
