Soon they are up to their knees in faery folk (don't trust 'em), druids (keen on trees), wild animals (Bron's a healer), the obligatory smoldering blacksmith (sorry, he prefers men), and the maddest Mad Great Aunt of all.

Thoroughly enjoyed!

Immorally so enjoyable! The story was intricate enough but not too busy. Hope to hear more about the relationship with Harken.

Not as silly as some books in this genera& a bit dark

This story was better than expected, has a more realistic attitude about magic, spirituality & folklore & gave that small village feeling.

Good story, very different from what normally read. Good end with potential for more stories.

Intriguing read

The book was a good read. Full of suspense. Makes you wonder about supernatural powers. The unsettled souls around us.

Bland

I can't help thinking that this was supposed to be really funny (instead of vaguely humorous) and would have been if the narration had treated it as a comedy. Instead it was vaguely banal. Combined with a lack lustre ending..... well, I just don't feel inclined to continue this series. I only finished this one bcos I listened while on the go and uncaring if I missed bits.
It's a shame audible can't seem to fit the right narrator with the right book. The narration wasn't technically bad (no overt mistakes), just very dull. I imagine she would do well with audio travel guides or other non-fiction
