Born without a gift, Haley Michaels is a "magical dud" among werewolves. Desperate for a life mate, she travels across the country to meet an eligible bachelor from another pack. Instead, she meets the pack's bad-tempered alpha, Bard Bennett. Despite his rude and brooding demeanor, Haley can't help but be drawn to him. She senses he has secrets—and a softer side than he lets on.

Bard tries to send Haley home, but he finds himself drawn to her intelligence, beauty, and captivating spirit. When a threat from his past resurfaces, he'll do anything to keep her safe. He just has to remember he can't keep her.

Contains mature themes.

So I know, I shouldn't judge someone by their voice but I just can't get past this voice actress' voice. She sounds either way too young or any annoying younger sister. Plus when she trys to act out any male characters, she trys to sound like their from the 80's to 90's fraternity (Frat) boys you see in movies. Plus it seems like she has a low E.Q ( emotional quota) where she can't recognize social ques or behaviors, which there is nothing wrong with that but She also lacks a lot of confidence and boundaries for herself and others. However, you do get a lot of second hand embarrassment from the female lead. Just really cringe, like pre-teen or teenage year behaviors, when she's supposed to be a 21 year old living in a college dorm. I also didnt know this was book 4, as I only went straight to the summary, sooo maybe this could be a contributing factor? Am not sure but its in my library now and I'll try to read again, when I have a lot more patience but I doubt my point of view will change. Sorry Author and Actress. 1 star from me.
