Chelsea never expected that she would have to move when she was nearly nine months pregnant.
Then again, she never imagined she'd lose her daughter's father while she was busy baking their baby, either. Heartbroken and distraught over being harassed by a disgruntled family member, she packs up and moves across Virginia with no assistance.
Arden, Lincoln, and Kase run the Blacksburg office of Shadow Security. Their instincts won't allow them to ignore their heavily pregnant new neighbor. After all, protecting people is how they've made their living. Well, that and the off-the-books contracts no one will ever know about, but this mission calls for a different kind of finesse.
With her due date only weeks away and still reeling from the loss of her daughter's father, will Chelsea be able to let her walls down long enough to let anyone in? Or will danger catch up before her neighbors can convince her they won't let her down?
When She Needs Them Most is a complete standalone with no cliffhanger. Narrated in duet style.

My review
I have a fondness for the omega verse books. This author is so good at telling this genre. Again a great job. I love the romance and love that comes in innocent and sweet. No twisted abusive love in her books so far.
The main characters were nicely done. How the main male had there own light and dark sides and also the odd ways they show love. Had me laughing at one point where he made a joke about burning a house down but started to consider it. The main female was also vary innocent and hopeless in a new situation. Denzel in distress all the way. Knights in tarnished armor. She was strong also other times. Nice balance for her personality.
My only wish about the story was the outcome of a few situations. Felt like a build up to little outcome. The brother who comes off as harassment and the men’s secret dark side jobs. They did answer all questions. and had a happy ending. But I wished there was a little bit more drama to it. Fight for a life kinda thing. But this is just my taste in books. Was still wonderful book.
Narration altogether was great . Different voices match each character, different emotions came through, and characters personalities came out strong. Wonderful work.
I would suggest this book to any who like Denzel‘s in distress, smexy time, strong love, and dark humor.
Sweet loving story

Briar's story is the next standalone. I'm totally going to listen to it, but it is dual narration instead of duet like this book, which I didn't expect. regardless, it's likely going to be just as unhinged and fun as this book.
Perfectly unhinged with low drama
