Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “How on earth did things get so hard?”

I have—more times than I can count.

I’ll never forget how helpless I felt when it seemed like our life was falling apart, when our oldest daughter faced seemingly endless brushes with death, or when our finances were in shambles. In those moments, I felt everything I’d ever dreamed of, or God had ever promised, was shattering at my feet.

But I’ll also never forget when things changed, when on the darkest of days I heard a voice whisper, “There is beauty in the broken.”

From then on, every dark day took on new meaning. Life didn’t immediately get easier, but I had a brilliant guiding light to navigate by. And friend, let me tell you, life has become more wonderful than I could have ever imagined.

I want you to know that what seems irredeemable actually holds the promise of great beauty. And on those days when words don’t come easy, I believe this story can help you navigate through.

My heart has been broken since my daughter’s diagnosis. I wanted to read this to help me cope with the loss of what could of been. Howard relates his heart on his similar experiences and helps me to know I’m not alone.

Not just about medical trauma and hardship tho…it’s about ALL the other things that tie back together: marriage, God, addiction, and more. Grateful Howard wrote this book and shared his hard.

Andy’s subtitle accurately captures his life experience and how God has redeemed his life’s pain and tragedies and provides a window into the hope that we all have in Christ. God wants to redeem each and every one of our stories, and Andy shows us how pain and suffering aren’t glitches in our stories but key elements that God uses to write them. However, Andy knows all too well how life’s hardships CAN sink us and take us down, and his book is like a raft of hope to anyone drowning in a sea of pain, experiencing depression, or just going through a challenging time. His vulnerability and authenticity add much to his message: he is not an “expert” with a prescription for how to live your life but rather a fellow sufferer who passionately wants to see others’ lives changed through the sharing of his own experience. His losses become others’ gain as he offers hope and encouragement through the words of this book. Highly recommended!

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting this author. This is as genuine a story as it comes. My friend Andy Howard beautifully illustrates his life. This is how God can take what we see as our detriment and use it for our dominance. No matter what you believe in your faith, this book will hit home to your heart.

This is an amazing book! The author Andy definitely kept my attention the whole time. I laughed some and cried a lot because it touched my heart and hit home on a few topics I’ve been going through recently. I will for sure be recommending this book to some people and I was already able to get my husband started on this book and he’s almost finished! I loved the part of the book that says God doesn’t wound you but He won’t allow the wound to be wasted either!
