My whole life, I've been the outsider. The wolves of the Anterrio Pack took my brother and me into their pack after our parents died. To the pack, I remained the wild, untamed misfit despite my efforts to belong.

My first heat loomed ahead of the Luna Ball, and once again, I found myself attracting unwelcome attention, not just from my pack but also from the visiting Blackridge Peak Pack.

When my brother suspected their new alpha might hold answers about our past, he refused to put me at risk while he searched for the truth. Instead, he set me free from a pack that never truly accepted me.

Running from the only home I'd ever known, I longed for a fresh start. But in an unfamiliar human world, finding my place proved to be another challenge, as trouble followed me relentlessly.

Until I realized it was not just misfortune that was dogging my heels.

It's an alpha.

Contains mature themes.

Words can not describe the power I feel inside my stomach. Is he mine. Can I overcome all the fears and suffering. I have to believe that I can overcome all.

I enjoyed following the FMC story and her growth. The tension was high but spice low. However the build up will be good for the next book. I think MMC needs groveling way more.

Fast paced

I thought I'd found an awesome new shifter series because the heroine (Kezia) is rebellious and genuinely funny. Laugh out loud funny. And although the plot in this book isn't tight and defined, it was still fun to be a bindle on the back of a nomadic shifter girl running from a bad pack. I also liked that Kezia was a skilled fighter. But the men in this book are horrible 🤬. Her brother (her only parent) is useless. Her male BFF is a sexist wimp. Her 'mate' (Cannon) is a psychopath. I'm sorry, but with all the lolz I must have missed that this was a dark romance. What else do you call it when a man (AN ALPHA) 14yrs the senior of the heroine, hides the fact they're mates, kidnaps her, doesn't tell his pack she exists, keeps her imprisoned on pack land in a windowless cell for a month, convinces THIS VULNERABLE CHILD that she's a cold blooded killer and a danger to society (she's not), starves her, shoots her twice, and never shows a hint of remorse? I think the author was trying to play it off as normal shifter high jinks?????? I mean, the heroine (and her 'allies') only shows a surface dislike of what Cannon has done. Kezia even allows him to continue touching her. I WAS SEETHING and kind of disgusted.

I can't read any more of this series.

Shame that this author doesn't know what love is
