As an aspiring novelist, who couldn’t afford a higher education, this book is inspirational and thought provoking. I played RPGs in high school. I never gave thought to how these games were created.

Now I can see how my deep knowledge of such things can be used to create the worlds of fiction that I yearn to craft.

I can personally attest that at least one real world anecdote Mr. Anderson uses is misleading and inaccurate at best. Much of his advice is common knowledge, and he comes off as pompous all while proving how intelligent he is over others from the kids he went to school with, to aspiring authors, to the religious groups he finds disagreement with. There is some to be learned from this book, but I'd venture a guess it could be sought from a simple article somewhere else for less money.

A lot of information here I already knew, except his personal life, I suppose, wich was useless to me and considering its not a very long read can give you context to how much useful information is here. Narration is fine, old wizard voice is cool.

felt like I was taking a very easy test.
