You Failed Me offers listeners a candid look inside the life of a child who was failed by the people who should have protected him from the evil that lurked in the shadows of his life. This book provides listeners with a raw look at poverty, abuse, and neglect while also bringing to light the failures in the social systems that are intended to protect the vulnerable in our society. John's story challenges the argument of nature vs. nurture in its entirety. Despite being failed by many, John also shares the impact others had in helping him navigate his childhood and how it helped him become what he is today. This is a must listen for anyone who has the opportunity to impact a child's life as a concerned family member, educator, social worker, or first responder.

Pulled at my heartstrings. Very relatable. Must read the print version and most definitely listen to the audible version after. To listen to the author's voice as he tells his story brings a raw truth to the book.

I happen to have the pleasure of working with the author and narrator, for a short period, when he was at his highest point success wise. For anyone who hasn’t, it’s a incredibly close insight on a true story of rags to riches. More importantly how you can better yourself and others around you, in being able to hear a person’s most intimate experiences you’d never have thought knowing him as a massive success. Must read for all who want to be aware of the reality of others around you and how to recognize the truth of being a good neighbor, and real value of your relationships in life!

This is a truly inspirational raw read and important message to be selfless/considerate/aware adult!
