• Pay attention to what frustrates you in your day-to-day work. That’s often where opportunity lives
• Don’t wait for permission. She brought the idea to her boss, got turned down, and did it anyway
• Build around outcomes, not just services. Her program trained people to be job-ready
• Start where your audience already is. She got traction through industry associations
• Be ready to adapt. What worked before might not work now

Coreen spent 35 years in the beauty industry where she owned several cosmetic salons on San Francisco’s Union Square and then became the National spokeswoman for the beauty division of a major corporation. For 15 years she was also a celebrity makeup and fashion expert on ABC (local and National ). After living in Mexico ( San Miguel Allende) for a year and took a silversmith apprenticeship, she began her second major career designing and manufacturing jewelry. She has been designing jewelry now for 25 years and has sold her designs in Saks and Neiman Marcus as well as hundreds of boutiques around the US

Turn frustration into opportunity
When Coreen was ignored by plastic surgeons she tried to partner with, she tracked the referrals she sent them and returned a year later with proof of the business she generated.

Let curiosity sell for you
Coreen wears her bold jewelry everywhere—grocery store, events, lunch. The pieces spark conversations that naturally turn into customers.

Don't get the wrong idea: it wasn't always easy: Coreen described sitting in a chair crying because her business wasn’t working. Instead of quitting, she asked herself one simple question:

“What needs to change?”

That shift—from frustration to curiosity—became a turning point in her career.
