  • Episode 217 Her Problem Became a Profitable Business - Here's How - Dr. Nelva Lee
    Mar 26 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

If you’re a business owner and have ever thought, “Someone should fix this,” you’ll want to listen to this episode.

My conversation with Dr. Nelva Lee is a real-world example of what happens when someone actually does something about a problem...and turns it into a profitable business.

Dr. Lee didn’t start with a big plan. She ran into an issue in her own work - interpreters weren’t properly trained. Instead of tolerating it, she built a solution. That solution became a business.

Here are a few ideas you can use right away:

    • Pay attention to what frustrates you in your day-to-day work. That’s often where opportunity lives
    • Don’t wait for permission. She brought the idea to her boss, got turned down, and did it anyway
    • Build around outcomes, not just services. Her program trained people to be job-ready
    • Start where your audience already is. She got traction through industry associations
    • Be ready to adapt. What worked before might not work now

We also talk about why trade skills and practical experience are becoming more valuable in an AI-driven world.

If you see a problem, don’t just talk about it - do something about it.

Want to be more successful, make more sales and grow your business? If so, you'll love this podcast. In this show, I (Kay Miller, aka "Muffler Mama,") interview superstar women from all industries. Their experience and advice will give you specific tools you can use to enjoy Uncopyable success. I earned the nickname “Muffler Mama" when sold more automotive mufflers than anyone in the world, and I've been a successful entrepreneur for over 30 years. During that time, I (along with my husband, Steve) have generated 8 figures in revenue for our business. Besides hosting this podcast, I'm an author, speaker, coach, consultant and most importantly....Kelly's mom.

    • What did you want to be when you grew up?
    • What’s something you still want to do?

    About Sara Vezensek:

Sara Vezensek grew up in Slovenia, a place where the luxury yacht world wasn’t even something people believed was real outside of movies. Mar 19 2026

Sara Vezensek joins me on the podcast to share fascinating journey from managing super yachts to building a freedom-based coaching business. She describes her former high-stakes career as "golden handcuffs" and explains why she traded 18-hour days for an online model that prioritizes time and choice.

Sara breaks down her "Three Ps" triangle—passion, problem, and profit—to help you identify a million-dollar course idea that actually sells. We discuss why you don't need a massive following to hit significant income goals and how she helped a client earn 10k a month with fewer than 70 followers.

  • Episode 213 | She Reinvented Her Life at 55 - and Built a Jewelry Brand Women Can't Stop Collecting: Coreen Cordova, Jewelry Designer & Founder of Coreen Cordova Jewelry
    Mar 5 2026

    Send a text

Thinking about reinventing your life or starting something new?

This episode shows how one woman did exactly that at 55—and built a thriving creative business.

Which begs the question: What if the most exciting chapter of YOUR life hasn’t happened yet?

My guest today, Coreen Cordova, proves it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. After 35 years in the beauty industry, Coreen walked away from a successful career, traveled to Mexico, learned silversmithing, and built a bold jewelry brand inspired by culture, color, and personal expression.

Today her designs are collected by women worldwide, who want their style to tell their story.

I loved the lessons she shared that any entrepreneur can apply:

    Turn frustration into opportunity
When Coreen was ignored by plastic surgeons she tried to partner with, she tracked the referrals she sent them and returned a year later with proof of the business she generated.

    Let curiosity sell for you
Coreen wears her bold jewelry everywhere—grocery store, events, lunch. The pieces spark conversations that naturally turn into customers.

Don't get the wrong idea: it wasn't always easy: Coreen described sitting in a chair crying because her business wasn’t working. Instead of quitting, she asked herself one simple question:

    “What needs to change?”

That shift—from frustration to curiosity—became a turning point in her career.

    Ask yourself:

What am I passionate enough about to build something around?

When you lean into your creativity and personality, you create something no one else can copy.
