"Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar" is a novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs, the fifth in his series of twenty-four books about the title character Tarzan. It first appeared in the November and December issues of All-Story Cavalier Weekly in 1916, and the first book publication was by McClurg in 1918.

In "The Oakdale Affair", we follow further adventures of Bridge. Bridge finds himself sheltering from a storm with a mysterious thief. The pair rescue a young woman who's run afoul of her gangster boyfriend. It seems that everybody wants the loot that the thief stole, and somewhere out there is a kidnapped young woman who is the key to it all. Bridge will have a lot of juggling to do to keep gangsters, gypsies, and private detectives in line and solve the mystery at hand.

Edgar Rice Burroughs' The Warlord of Mars is the third novel in his science-fiction series set on the planet Mars. In the second book, John Carter's wife is taken prisoner by the fake god Issus in the Temple of the Sun. The temple's prisoners are kept in cells that slowly rotate so that the cell is only accessible to the outside world once a year. And thus, in this third novel, John Carter must wait an entire year before he can free his beloved Dejah Thoris.

It all starts with a message in a bottle, a cry for help from a lost world. Submarine manufacturer Bowen Tyler was on an Atlantic journey to Europe, when his boat was torpedoed by one of his own submarines. He manages to survive, along with his faithful dog, Nobs, and with a little help from a passing tug boat, capture the U33, the very submarine that he built, and that had torpedoed him. With the German crew and the English tug crew, they drift to a lost island, almost as big as a continent, where exist many animals long since extinct elsewhere.

Unfortunately, Carter materializes in the one place on Barsoom from which nobody is allowed to depart: the Valley Dor, which is the Barsoomian afterlife.
